Thank you for visiting. I love making new friends.
You are so sweet to stop by!
Saved by Grace.
Wife of Mighty Mouse (a.k.a MM, a.k.a. Romeo).
Mother of 10 heroes & heroines.
I have spent the last 26 years being a homeschooling Mama. I adore being home, it’s my happy place.
Over those years, I have also enjoyed buying, remodeling, and selling homes with the help of my extremely hard-working children. I have applied countless gallons of paint, stain, polyurethane, spackling, orange peel, tile adhesives, stucco patch, xylene, grout, caulking, concrete sealer, and drywall mud. I have delighted in nearly every minute, and those moments I did not enjoy, I hated. Have you ever tried getting wood adhesive out of curly hair?
Everyone in my family loves, loves, loves to read, and/or listen to audiobooks. Mighty Mouse reads Theology or History. The children prefer non-fiction including history, biography, adventure, and theology, but they’ve all read a couple of dozen Louis L’Amours.
I enjoy classic literature, particularly Russian literature. Fyodor Dostoyevsky is my favorite author. I also appreciate non-fiction auto-biography and adventure books.
I have recently rediscovered a long-lost pleasure – art. I enjoy drawing with graphite and painting with watercolor and oil. I am most capable of drawing; I am learning to paint; I excel at neither. But I shall persevere!
In 2017 I was searching for a way to share what I believe with others while homeschooling and being a mother to a large family. I had quoted Theodore Roosevelt to my children countless times, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” I took his advice myself. I was at home with little time, but I had a computer, and my husband had always encouraged me to write. So, I did. I began my first book, Love Into Eternity, in 2017 and completed it in 2018. Since then tens of thousands of copies have been downloaded and I pray that through it many have read God’s message of forgiveness and salvation.
What are your favorite television shows?
We have always lived rurally and have rarely had a television signal which, honestly, made me happy. Television commercials are a waste of precious time that one can never recover, and there was not much worth watching anyway. We have always had a collection of movies we love (first on VHS, then DVD, now digital) and we usually have a movie night once each week. We do have a favorite movie tab that we are continually updating.
Where do you live?
Our family has lived in many places, but always in the South.
How long have you been married to MM/Romeo?
We were married in 1990.
Have you always homeschooled?
I have homeschooled all of my children beginning with phonics and ending with ACT tests. None of them have ever attended another school. We’ve had a lot of fun over the years.
What curriculum do you use?
When I began homeschooling over two decades ago, I began creating my curriculum using what worked best for my family. I am presently gathering a list of our entire homeschool curriculum and I am working on posting it.
Is MM a pastor?
No. MM holds a Master of Divinity degree with a specialization in Apologetics. Theology is his passion – he eats, drinks, and breathes it. But, as a father of ten enormous eaters, the ministry has never been an option for him. He has frequently preached to fill the pulpit for others and has loved every moment of study and preparation. However, while we still have voracious omnivores living under our roof, he will continue to bring home the
bacon steak and potatoes by means of a nine to five six to six job as a salesman.
